Updating website with classes.

1. Don’s Proposal Discussion

• Five or ten week religious/spiritual class that involves chanting, audio listening, and group discussion about the reading of the Jaiva Dharma, Krishna and the theology of yoga.
• Needs space for class.
• Don should create a detailed description for the website so that there is no confusion concerning the non-physical nature of the class. He should also think of how to link the class to our day-to-day social struggles.
• Corey will contact Don to help him prepare the necessary material for the class and how best to prepare for the first class.

2. G20 update (Education panel discussion)

• Kalin is with the Toronto Community Mobilization Network which aims to help converge the local movements in the Toronto community at the G20.
• Specifically, the idea is for AFU to organize a course or workshop during the week prior to the G20 summit as part of an education outreach .
• Which courses will be offered?
• Joseph Film, Corey Philosophy of Ecology, Possum Group Dynamics and Maggie is interested in doing a class on alternative education.
• The idea of somehow linking the AFU courses was mentioned.

3. Class Discussion

Spaces for the class:

Lift Space. Lenox Café(possum). Free Gallery(petra), Tinto (corey,joseph), Manifesto(Maggie), UFT or Ryerson (Kalin is Opirg contact or FreeUFT?), Hotshot Gallery (Petra), Edith(Possum), Naco(corey)

• No space has been confirmed for any of the classes, but the idea is perhaps that Possum will use Petra’s space, Corey will use Tinto and Joseph will try to us UFT or Ryerson

• Joseph will start his course for the last week of May and the other courses will begin in June.

4. Vote to endorse Toronto Mobilization Network

• AFU agrees to endorse the Toronto Mobilization Network, but not the statement concerning the right to condone the actions of the other organizations that take part in the Toronto Mobilization Network.

4. AFU Info E-mail

• Corey & Possum will check and respond to the AFU info e-mails on the website.

5. Facebook call on AFU page

• Corey wants AFU facebook statistics and Possum & Joseph don’t really support facebook. Maggie agrees to manage the Facebook postings?

6. Changing Next Meeting

• The time of the next general AFU meeting was changed to Sunday, June 13^th, 7-9pm. Food and Spanish Tapas.
