AFU Minutes Sunday, September 19th, 2010

Time: 4-6pm
In Attendance – Possum, Michael R, Joseph, Petra

1. Outreach & Course Facilitation Meeting

Agreed to hold a meeting on Wednesday, September 29th. This meeting will be held to coordinate the courses that will begin in October and vote on any courses that have not been approved yet.

2. Courses

Two approved courses that will begin in October: David's philosophy course. Possum's facilitating course.

Three possible courses that could begin in October: Petra's yoga course. Paul's math course. Joseph's course on film and propaganda.

*any courses that have not been voted on yet can be approved at the the meeting on September 29th.

3. Outreach flyer

Some suggestions were made on changing the language in the flyer and removing the anti-oppression facilitation.

4. Toronto Free University

We discussed another anarchist university in Toronto and decided to reach out to them and see if we can cross-promote the courses offered on both ends. Joseph said he would attend their next meeting.

5. Spaces for courses and workshops

Discussed possible spaces for the upcoming courses and who would reach out and communicate with whomever is in charge of each space. Petra said she would contact the Free Gallery regarding the possibility of holding Possum and Paul's courses. Joseph said he would contact Tinto's and Maggie would talk to the people at Linux Cafe to find out what the exact conditions are. We also agreed that David's philosophy course would be held at the Dupont/Ossington space. A consolidated list will be made by Petra for the next meeting with available spaces and the information concerning those spaces. *other places mentioned were Hack Labs, Edith's house, 519 community centre and UofT?

6. Communications

It has been agreed to use the general@anarchistu.org e-mail list for future discussions.
